VW Know-How Without the Dealer Price Tag
Volkswagens bring European engineering to everyday budgets. That brings some specific requirements: oils that carry a VW approval number, DSG gearboxes with their own service intervals, and electronics that need proper diagnostic software.
We're set up for all of it. And as Diane found when she brought her Golf R in for a full service and a fault code fix, it doesn't need to be complicated or slow.
Volkswagen Servicing
Your new VW can be serviced here without affecting its warranty. Australian Consumer Law only requires the schedule to be followed using appropriate parts and fluids. For a Volkswagen, appropriate means a few things worth knowing about.
| Item | Why it matters on a VW |
|---|---|
| Oil approval | VW publishes its own oil standards. The right approval protects turbos, timing chains and particulate filters. |
| DSG gearbox | Some dual-clutch transmissions have a scheduled fluid and filter service. Others are sealed. We check which yours has. |
| Service reset | Reminders and some service functions are reset through diagnostic software. |
| Haldex / 4MOTION | All-wheel-drive models may list a coupling fluid service. |
| Diesel models | Amarok and Tiguan TDIs need fuel filter changes and DPF health checks. |
Models We Look After
Amarok
2.0 TDI and V6 TDI. Heavy towing use makes brakes, cooling and DPF care important.
Golf, GTI & R
From commuter to performance hatch. Correct oil, DSG servicing and brakes are key.
Tiguan
Family SUV in petrol and diesel. Haldex AWD service where listed.
Polo
Small turbo petrol. Regular oil changes and coolant checks help it last.
Transporter & Crafter
Working vans. Brakes, tyres and diesel servicing on a busy schedule.
Touareg
Premium tow vehicle, sharing much engineering with Audi and Porsche SUVs.

Volkswagen Checks & Inspections
Considering a used Golf GTI or Amarok? Ask whether the DSG has been serviced on time where required, then book a pre-purchase inspection. We'll scan for stored faults and check for leaks, worn brakes and timing-related codes.
Check Your Oil the VW Way
Many late-model Volkswagens show oil level through the infotainment screen rather than a traditional dipstick. Check it with the car level and warmed up. If it ever asks for a top-up, use oil carrying the right VW approval, which is listed in your handbook or on the oil cap.

Volkswagen FAQ
Does my VW need a special oil?
Most recent VWs specify an oil that carries a particular VW approval number, listed in your handbook. We use oil that meets the approval for your engine.
Does my DSG need servicing?
It depends on the type. Some DSG gearboxes have a scheduled fluid change and others don't. We'll check which type your car has.
Can you fix my VW's fault codes?
Yes. We read every module, test the related components and fix the cause, as we did for Diane's Golf R.
Will servicing here affect my VW warranty?
No. Every VW service here works through Volkswagen's own interval list, using approved fluids and parts to spec.
Is the Amarok V6 hard on brakes?
It's a heavy, strong ute that often tows, so brakes can wear faster than on a lighter vehicle. We measure pads and rotors at every service so you're never caught short.
