Complex Vehicles, Clear Answers
Land Rovers are packed with systems: height-adjustable air suspension, Terrain Response, multiple control modules and powerful petrol and diesel engines. When everything works, they're superb.
When something doesn't, owners often face vague answers and big quotes. Our approach is the opposite: diagnose methodically, explain what's actually wrong, and give you a clear price before any work begins. The grey Range Rover Sport pictured here was one of the cars on our floor recently.
Land Rover Repairs
| Symptom | Typical cause | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Car sits low or shows a suspension fault | Air spring leak, valve block or compressor | Find the leak, test the compressor, quote the fix |
| Coolant warning or loss | Ageing hoses, pipes or water pump | Pressure test and repair the leak |
| DPF or emissions warning | Short trips on a diesel | Read filter data, check sensors, advise on driving |
| Multiple warnings at once | Low battery voltage or a module fault | Battery and charging test, full module scan |
| Oil leaks | Ageing gaskets and seals | Trace the source and reseal |

Land Rover Checks & Inspections
Buying used
A used Range Rover can be a bargain or a money pit. Our pre-purchase inspection scans every module, checks the suspension, looks for leaks and reviews the history.
Before a big trip
Towing to the South West or heading off-road? Our 4WD servicing covers pre-trip checks.
Making a Land Rover Easier to Own
- Keep the battery healthy. Many odd electrical messages trace back to low voltage.
- Notice how the car sits each morning. Overnight sagging is an early sign of an air leak.
- Watch the coolant level, particularly on older diesels in hot weather.
- Diesels need regular longer drives for particulate filter regeneration.
Tricky Faults, Honest Fixes
“I had an engine fault that I could not get of my dash, after wasting alot of money and no luck with 2 other garages to remove the fault, stephen and his team managed to get it resolved. My car is driving like new now.”
“finding a workshop that's genuinely honest is refreshing. They were easy to deal with, straight to the point, communicated everything clearly, and charged a fair, honest price with no hidden surprises.”
“they did a thorough check on my car, also took time to explain everything, very professional, trustworthy and with fair prices!”
Land Rover FAQ
My Range Rover is sitting low overnight. What's wrong?
A slow air leak from an air spring, line or valve block is the most common cause. We'll find exactly where it's escaping before quoting.
Can you service my Land Rover under warranty?
Yes. We follow Land Rover's schedule using appropriate parts and fluids, which keeps your warranty rights protected.
Why does my Discovery show lots of warnings at once?
Low battery voltage can upset several systems at the same time. We test the battery and charging first, then scan for genuine faults.
Do you work on older Defenders?
Tell us the year and model when you book and we'll confirm. Older Defenders are mechanically simpler, but parts and access vary.
Is it worth fixing a Land Rover's air suspension, or converting to coils?
That depends on the model, its condition and how you use it. Repairing the air system keeps the car as designed, with its height adjustment. We'll explain the options and costs honestly so you can decide.
