Fun to Drive, Fussy About Maintenance
Modern MINIs share their engines, electronics and service systems with BMW. That makes them great to drive, but it also means they reward careful, on-time maintenance.
Correct oil to the right approval, cooling system checks and proper diagnostics all matter. We look after the whole range, from early Cooper hatches to the latest Countryman, and explain what your car needs before any work starts.
MINI Servicing
Most MINIs use condition-based servicing: the car tells you when oil, brake fluid and an inspection are due. We read those reminders, carry out the work to MINI's requirements and reset the service display, so your warranty stays protected.
- Condition-based service items read and reset
- Engine oil to the correct BMW/MINI approval
- Cooling system and hoses checked for leaks
- Air, cabin and fuel filters as scheduled
- Brake pads, rotors and wear sensors measured
- Logbook stamped with an itemised invoice
MINI Models We Service
Cooper & Cooper S
The classic three and five-door. Oil, cooling and ignition care keep the turbo engines happy.
Countryman
The family MINI, with ALL4 all-wheel drive on some models. Driveline fluids and tyres matter.
Clubman
Split rear doors and more room. Servicing follows the same condition-based system.
Convertible
Roof mechanism, seals and drains checked alongside routine servicing.
John Cooper Works
Harder-working engines and bigger brakes. Correct oil and fresh fluids are a must.
R50 to R61
Older MINIs are still common. Timing chain noise and oil leaks are worth checking.

MINI FAQ
Can you service my MINI without affecting the warranty?
Yes. Australian Consumer Law lets an independent workshop service your car as long as MINI's requirements are followed with suitable parts and fluids. We do that and reset the service display.
My MINI says a service is due. What does it need?
MINIs track oil, brake fluid and inspections separately. We read which items are due from the car and quote for exactly those, plus anything we find on inspection.
Is a rattle on cold start serious?
On some MINI engines it can be an early sign of timing chain wear. It's worth having checked soon, as catching it early is usually cheaper than waiting.
Do you work on older MINIs?
Yes. We see first and second generation MINIs regularly, as well as the current models.
