Simple Range, Serious Workload

Isuzu's reputation comes from its truck engines, and the D-Max and MU-X carry that thinking: a torquey diesel, a tough ladder chassis and few gimmicks.

That simplicity makes them easy to live with, but they're often worked hard. Loaded trays, boat trailers, beach runs at Lancelin and long highway stints all add up. Servicing that accounts for real use keeps them reliable.

Isuzu Servicing

Isuzu ute owners can have their logbook servicing done here throughout the warranty period. The rule is straightforward: the manufacturer's schedule must be followed with appropriate parts. We do both, and record it.

Every service includes a look underneath for the things utes suffer from: damaged underbody protection, leaking diff seals, and worn spring bushes.

  • Diesel-rated engine oil and filter
  • Fuel filter and water trap drained or replaced
  • Air filter checked for dust, replaced when due
  • Diff and transfer oils on schedule
  • DPD status read on later models
Fixes we handle

Isuzu Repairs

DPD regeneration issues

Warning lights and reduced power diagnosed, sensors and related systems checked.

Springs & shocks

Sagging rears and bouncy rides on loaded utes and tow vehicles.

Brakes

Pads, rotors and drums. Utes that tow wear them faster. See brake repairs.

CV & driveline

Split boots, worn uni joints and clunks when taking up drive.

Accessories

Checking wiring for driving lights, fridges and dual batteries.

Leaks

Diff, gearbox and engine seals that weep after water crossings.

Isuzu Checks & Inspections

A used D-Max can look tidy on top and tell a different story underneath. Our pre-purchase inspection checks chassis rails, spring hangers, tow bar mounts and service history.

Before towing the van up to Shark Bay, book a pre-trip check through our 4WD servicing.

Loading Up Your D-Max or MU-X

Know your payload

Canopies, drawers, bull bars and tool boxes all eat into the rated payload before you add any gear. Weighing a fully loaded ute is an eye-opener.

Towing the van

Check ball weight and tyre pressures before long tows, and give brakes and cooling extra attention in summer.

Clean diesel matters

Refuel at busy stations where you can, and drain the water separator whenever the warning light appears.

FAQ

Isuzu FAQ

What is a DPD on my Isuzu?

DPD stands for diesel particulate diffuser, Isuzu's name for a diesel particulate filter. It traps soot and burns it off during regeneration, which needs the engine hot for a sustained period.

Can I get my new D-Max logbook serviced here?

Yes. We follow the Isuzu schedule with suitable parts and record the service, so your warranty rights are protected.

How often should I replace the fuel filter?

Your service book lists the interval. If you refuel in remote areas or see a water-in-fuel warning, it may need attention sooner.

Can you service my D-Max after a beach trip?

Yes. After sand and salt water, it's worth having brakes, wheel bearings and seals checked, and rinsing the underside thoroughly.

Why does my D-Max sometimes idle higher than normal?

On later models a raised idle can be the DPD regenerating, burning off collected soot. Let it finish where practical. If it happens very often, or a warning light appears, book in so we can check why it needs to regenerate so frequently.
